Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.

Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.

About the Role:
We’re looking for a backend engineer to help build and evolve the systems that power Crusoe Cloud’s observability platform. You’ll design and develop backend services and data pipelines that enable engineers to monitor, debug, and improve the performance of Crusoe’s global infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone with strong backend development experience who’s excited to learn more about observability and distributed systems while contributing to critical platform services used by every engineering team.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Building and maintaining backend services and APIs that power observability and monitoring systems

  • Designing reliable data ingestion and processing pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces

  • Developing scalable storage and query layers for telemetry data using modern distributed systems

  • Collaborating with platform and SRE teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and visibility

  • Implementing automation and integrations that make observability data more actionable for engineers

  • Helping to modernize and extend Crusoe’s internal observability tools and infrastructure

  • Participating in code reviews, design discussions, and platform-wide technical initiatives

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 3–6 years of experience in backend or platform software development

  • Strong programming skills in Go or Python (experience with both is a plus)

  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and data processing pipelines

  • Familiarity with containerized environments and Kubernetes

  • Experience building systems that process or store large volumes of data

  • Interest in learning and contributing to observability, monitoring, or telemetry systems

  • Collaborative mindset with an eagerness to work across infrastructure and platform teams

Bonus Points For:

  • Exposure to observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, or Jaeger

  • Experience with streaming or messaging systems (Kafka, NATS, Pulsar)

  • Understanding of metrics pipelines, alerting systems, or log processing frameworks

  • Experience in cloud infrastructure or SRE environments

Benefits:

  • Industry competitive pay

  • Restricted Stock Units in a fast growing, well-funded technology company

  • Health insurance package options that include HDHP and PPO, vision, and dental for you and your dependents

  • Employer contributions to HSA accounts

  • Paid Parental Leave

  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability

  • Teladoc

  • 401(k) with a 100% match up to 4% of salary

  • Generous paid time off and holiday schedule

  • Cell phone reimbursement

  • Tuition reimbursement

  • Subscription to the Calm app

  • MetLife Legal

  • Company paid commuter benefit; $300 per month

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $137,000 - $166,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
