Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
Diamond Foundry is seeking to hire an Analytical Chemist responsible for commissioning, operating, and maintaining various production and process analysis equipment (process gases, process water, and cooling water systems) to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, and safety.
You will join a team of highly skilled technicians and engineers working in the production of synthetic diamonds. This position will initially operate on a full-time daytime schedule and may transition to a shift-based schedule in the future.
This is an onsite role located in the historic city of Trujillo, Spain.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the gas chromatograph (GC) to analyze gas streams and communicate gas status and any issues promptly to team members and management.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime of the equipment under your responsibility, improving equipment availability and reliability. Manage inventory of consumables and materials, creating purchase orders and tracking them through delivery.
  • Create and maintain production, maintenance, and repair documentation and records as required. Ensure that sample collection, labeling, storage, logging, and preservation of both gas and process/cooling water samples are carried out according to established standards.
  • Analyze and quantify sources of variation in measurements and initiate or propose improvement projects within your area of responsibility.
  • Work closely with team members to maintain manufacturing processes within standard operating parameters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, with at least 3 years of professional experience in gas analysis and/or operating gas chromatography instrumentation, as well as experience with instrumentation and procedures for process and cooling water analysis.
  • Familiarity with safe work practices for compressed gases and chemicals, with experience performing tasks in strict compliance with established standards.
  • Experience working within a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facilities environment is considered an advantage, as well as experience managing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written.
