Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Production Engineering Technician to join our team and play a pivotal role in the development and scaling of our groundbreaking new process. This individual will be instrumental in the pilot production phase, working hands-on to run initial processes, validate new methods, and meticulously document every step. A self-starter with a keen eye for detail, the ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate innovative designs into robust, manufacturable processes, contributing significantly to the successful launch of our next-generation products. This will be a temp-to-hire role in our Fremont location.

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Analyze, monitor, and troubleshoot complex production processes and equipment to identify and resolve issues, continuously improving efficiency, quality, and output.
  • SOP Development & Documentation: Author, revise, and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other critical manufacturing documentation to ensure standardization and compliance.
  • Hands-on Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Proficiently operate a wide range of production tools and equipment, performing routine and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Hazardous Chemical Handling & Safety: Safely handle, store, and work with various hazardous chemicals in strict adherence to safety protocols, MSDS guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Production Flow Analysis & Improvement: Possess an in-depth understanding of end-to-end production flows, actively identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions to streamline operations and enhance material flow.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Manufacturing: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally in a production or process engineering support role.
  • Tool & Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrated high-level proficiency in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining diverse production tools and manufacturing equipment.
  • Documentation Expertise: Proven track record of successfully developing, writing, and implementing comprehensive technical documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
  • Chemical Safety Acumen: Comfortable and experienced working with hazardous chemicals, with a strong understanding of chemical safety principles, proper handling, and PPE utilization.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
