Construction Quality Manager
General Matter is seeking a Construction Quality Control/Assurance Manager to join our Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) team and help build out our facilities.
The QC/QA Manager will partner with project management, infrastructure engineering, nuclear licensing, project controls, and procurement from installation through start of production. This role will oversee quality documentation across multiple project scopes, manage QC/QA specialists, coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, resolve day-to-day quality issues, and perform inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications while tracking schedule and budget.
The QC/QA Manager will work closely with the Site Superintendent and Construction Manager and report directly to the Head of Construction.
Responsibilities
- Management of a team of QC/QA Specialists for all quality documentation, inspections, and coordination for General Matter projects.
- Responsible for managing and organizing all construction project quality documentation for both NQA1 and non-NQA1 documentation.
- Responsible for maintaining and meeting all inspection hold-points and associated third party inspection firms for both schedule and budget.
- Identifies risks at the project site and identifying discrepancies during daily site walks. Documents findings, evaluations and inspections using Company prescribed procedures and software.
- Assists with protocols, qualifications, and prescribed validation procedures and documentation.
- Performs system verifications on completed systems to ensure correct installation per contract design specifications.
- Documents, analyzes and reports environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
- Supports impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the organization’s environmental risks and financial costs, at the direction of the environmental team and procedures.
- Support published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or engineering diploma.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- ACI or equivalent certification.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc).
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
- 5+ years managing QC/QA inspectors.
- Experience with NQA1 inspection protocols or similar.
- CWI certification preferred.
- Experience or training in construction industry compliance.
- Proven subject matter expert in testing, inspection processes, and construction procedures.
- Ability to take extreme ownership.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Experience or willingness to grow in inspection, monitoring, and technical writing documentation.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $100,000–$160,000 annually.
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
