We are seeking an entrepreneurial and detail-oriented Director of Finance to lead our accounting and financial operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance and Capital Markets, you will manage the core accounting functions while also supporting financial modeling, forecasting, and capital markets operations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone eager to shape financial systems in a fast-growing startup.

Key responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Operations:

Oversee and manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements (US registered company)
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to support scalability.

Financial Modeling and Forecasting:

Build and maintain detailed financial models to support strategic decision-making.
Partner with the VP of Finance to forecast revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
Provide actionable insights into financial performance and recommend optimizations.

Capital Markets Support:

Assist in the preparation of materials for investors, lenders, and other capital providers.
Support fundraising activities, including financial due diligence and scenario planning.
Monitor covenant compliance and manage financial data for investor reports.

Process Improvement and System Implementation:

Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to increase operational efficiency.
Automate and streamline accounting processes to support rapid growth.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and alignment.

Success factors

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Experience with accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. (Brex and Rippling nice to have)
- Experience of US accounting practices ideally with a high growth Series A startup. Experience managing an audit is preferred.
- Knowledge of capital markets operations, fundraising, or investor relations is also a plus.
