
Director of Sales - Mass Market (Target and Walmart)

Kettle & Fire is looking for a strategic, relationship-driven Director of Sales – Mass to guide our growth across Walmart and Target — two of our most important retail partners and key pillars of our long-term strategy.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how our brand shows up on the shelf and online, lead a talented broker network, and work closely with internal teams to deliver meaningful results. You’ll be at the forefront of our expansion into the broader marketplace, helping bring our mission of nourishing, great-tasting real food to millions of customers nationwide.
This is a highly impactful remote role, reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Sales, where you’ll contribute directly to revenue, customer experience, and Kettle & Fire’s overall brand presence in the mass retail space.
What You'll Own:
- P&L responsibility for Walmart and Target, driving top- and bottom-line performance.
- Lead a seasoned broker network — collaborate, motivate, and hold them accountable for execution and results.
- Set and execute channel strategies, leveraging JBPs, merchant relationships, and data to drive category growth.
- Partner cross-functionally (Marketing, Finance, Ops) to align launches, promos, pricing, and forecasting.
- Create and lead Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and category reviews that win space, gain promotional support, and grow our footprint.
- Align omnichannel strategies across in-store and online platforms (Walmart.com, Target.com, Instacart, etc.).
- Drive promotional ROI and optimize trade investment.
- Represent Kettle & Fire at industry events, line reviews, and act as the internal voice of Walmart and Target, ensuring customer needs.
- Keep a pulse on competitors and category trends and proactively working to stay ahead of competitive threats.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
- 7+ years of experience in CPG sales, with at least 3 years managing Walmart or Target HQ accounts.
- Proven success with P&L ownership and broker management.
- Strong track record of revenue and market share growth in complex retail environments.
- Skilled in trade analytics, promotional strategy, and category development. Ability to work with Finance to manage budgets.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Tech-savvy with tools like SPINS, Nielsen, retailer portals, and CRM/reporting platforms.
- A natural collaborator with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
- Willingness to travel ~25–30% for key meetings with Target (Minneapolis) and Walmart (Bentonville), field visits, and broker offices.
