Magrathea is seeking a dedicated and decisive Senior Process Engineer to support the scale-up of our technology to commercial scale. Our innovative talent is one of the biggest drivers in our success, and talented people don’t always fit with rigid job descriptions or day-to-day responsibilities. The Senior Process Engineer will be a key player in the scale-up and design of our revolutionary electrolytic process technology.

About The Role
Magrathea is seeking a dedicated and decisive Senior Process Engineer to support the scale-up of our technology to commercial scale. However, we want to be transparent about what will be expected of this role. The Senior Process Engineer will be a key player in the scale-up and design of our revolutionary electrolytic process technology.
Role Expectations
- Support in leading scale-up and design of Magrathea’s technology to commercial scale quickly, economically, and safely
- Contribute to engineering work products for overall process and unit operations including design basis, PFD, P&ID, MFD, plot plans, HAZOP and model reviews
- Manage innovative custom equipment fabrication and installation with third party service providers
- Rapid fabrication of key unit operations to provide proof of concept and process mechanical validation of critical processes to support technology development
- Apply problem solving skills and design experience to hydrometallurgy, solids handling, drying, electrolysis, molten salt processing, refractory materials, gas handling, foundry and pyrometallurgy applications
- BS, MS, or PhD in chemical or mechanical engineering
- Over 5 years of experience operating successfully in an industrial setting
- Strong competence in inorganic chemistry, equipment fabrication, technology development, and project execution
- Creative and open-minded with the ability to rapidly learn
- Demonstrated track record of working on a team to achieve audacious goals together
- History of promoting company culture based on humility, transparency, respect, and care for the success of other team members
- Salary range: $130-$170k annually (commensurate with experience)
