About Us

Modern Animal equips veterinary professionals with the tools, training, and support to deliver care they’re proud of. As we grow, our priority is not just hiring more clinicians—but attracting those who align with our medical standards and values. This role defines how we do that in a way that’s scalable, strategic, and grounded in what works.

The Role

We’re hiring a strategic operator to lead how we attract, engage, and convert high-quality veterinary talent. This role brings together strategy, messaging, and analytics to create more structure and impact across the hiring funnel—especially at the top and middle, where interest is built and early engagement happens.

You’ll be responsible for the systems and tactics that make recruiting more effective: identifying where to focus, building programs that drive interest, and designing experiments that improve how we connect with the right veterinary talent. This isn’t a sourcing or recruiting role—it’s about building the foundation that helps those teams succeed.

You’ll partner closely with Talent (Recruiters and Sourcers), Growth, Brand (Creative), Medicine, Operations, and clinic leaders to align on who we target, what we say, and how we scale what’s working. You’ll also bring the discipline of growth and marketing analytics into the talent space—ensuring we’re applying time, effort, and resources where they’ll have the most impact.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead strategy and execution for top- and mid-funnel performance within doctor hiring, with a focus on increasing Interested Response Rate and improving conversion between key stages of the hiring journey.
  • Partner with Talent (Recruiters and Sourcers), Brand, Medicine, Operations, and Clinic Leadership to identify funnel friction and implement targeted campaigns that increase engagement and improve throughput. This includes owning the design and implementation of scalable messaging, segmentation, events, and outreach strategies across all priority markets, doctor types, and hiring channels.
  • Run a multi-channel playbook to attract and engage talent—leveraging events, recruiting activations, social channels, email nurture, and paid media. Work closely with Brand and Recruiting to ensure each channel is aligned in message, timing, and conversion goals, and that efforts are sequenced and measured with discipline.
  • Build systems and playbooks that enable recruiters and sourcers to run more effective outreach—grounded in what works and tailored by segment. Design and run experiments that move passive interest to active pipeline, and scale winning strategies across the team.
  • Define and maintain funnel reporting to provide visibility into performance across regions, clinics, and doctor profiles. Use data to drive action—developing KPIs, conversion targets, and feedback loops that align recruiting execution with hiring urgency.
  • Collaborate deeply with Medicine and Brand to ensure messaging reflects Modern Animal’s clinical philosophy, day-to-day experience, and values. Influence the positioning and timing of content and events in service of building a more engaged, higher-converting pipeline.
  • Lead cross-functional work streams that connect talent strategy with business goals. Act as the operational partner for Talent to ensure we are targeting, messaging, and resourcing the right markets at the right time.
  • Maintain a continuous learning loop: capture what’s working, where we’re losing traction, and what needs to change. Apply structured testing and iteration to outreach strategies and post-event conversion.

Why you’d be a great fit:

  • Minimum 5 years in a growth, marketing, or strategy-focused role with measurable funnel or campaign performance outcomes.
  • At least 3+ years owning top- or mid-funnel strategy (e.g. demand generation, lifecycle marketing, recruiting operations, or talent marketing)
  • Well-rounded marketer proficient in: email marketing tools (i.e. HubSpot, Gem), website analytics (i.e. Google Analytics), digital and non-digital marketing strategies, best practices, and channels, including print, website, paid and organic social (LinkedIn, Meta, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), and other media tactics.
  • Project and campaign management experience to ensure projects are designed, implemented, and evaluated effectively
  • Able to pull insights from multiple sources (ATS, CRM, campaign tools, dashboards) and build clear, actionable reporting that highlights funnel trends, gaps, and performance by clinic, role, or market; fluent in tools like Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
  • Bonus: experience working in multi-site, service-based businesses (e.g. healthcare, education, retail), or recruiting for hard-to-fill or geographically dispersed roles

What you can expect from us:

  • Excellent medical, vision, & dental coverage with various options to choose from
  • 401k savings plan with a company match
  • Flexible time off & paid parental leave
  • Free membership to Modern Animal for your pets and discounts on extra services
  • Free membership to One Medical for primary care
  • Access to behavioral and mental health services through Ginger
  • A collaborative team who has your back and will welcome you as part of our pack
