Global Logistics Lead
Neros Technologies
Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
The Global Logistics Lead will own all international and domestic shipping operations for controlled and hazardous materials, including lithium batteries, defense-related electronics, and ITAR-restricted items. This individual will build and manage logistics systems, oversee compliance with international trade and export laws, and develop scalable SOPs to support production ramp-up and global expansion.
This role requires deep knowledge of international trade compliance, transportation of dangerous goods (DG), and defense export control (ITAR/EAR), as well as a hands-on approach to execution.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and tactical—capable of designing compliant global shipping frameworks while also managing day-to-day logistics execution. They will be instrumental in enabling Neros’s rapid international growth while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
- Manage end-to-end shipping and logistics for domestic and international shipments, including air, ocean, and ground freight.
- Oversee packaging, labeling, and documentation of dangerous goods (DG) shipments (IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR).
- Ensure all logistics operations adhere to export control (ITAR/EAR), customs, and hazardous material regulations.
- Maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure reliable and compliant service.
- Develop and monitor performance KPIs across shipping cost, lead time, and delivery reliability.
- Maintain DG certifications and ensure proper staff training and recordkeeping per regulatory requirements.
- Write, standardize, and maintain SOPs for all shipping, receiving, and logistics workflows, including export documentation, DG handling, and customs processes.
- Build audit-ready documentation systems for traceability and defense-contract compliance (e.g., DFARS, DPAS, AS9100).
- Support ERP or SCM system integration to automate shipment tracking and cost allocation.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Production, Legal, and Program Management teams to align shipping with customer delivery schedules and export restrictions.
- Advise engineering and operations on packaging and design considerations for DG and controlled exports.
You should have the following
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with a focus on international and DG shipments.
- Strong working knowledge of IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR, ITAR, EAR, and customs regulations.
- Experience preparing export documentation (commercial invoices, shippers’ declarations, AES filings, etc.).
- Proven ability to build and implement logistics SOPs and training documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and data processing skills including excel and ideally SQL experience.
Nice to have
- Experience in a defense, aerospace, or dual-use hardware company.
- DG certification (IATA/ICAO Category 6 or equivalent).
- Familiarity with ERP or shipping management systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent).
- Experience working with DPAS-rated or military export shipments.
