SERVE ROBOTICS
At Serve Robotics, we’re reimagining how things move in cities. Our personable sidewalk robot is our vision for the future. It’s designed to take deliveries away from congested streets, make deliveries available to more people, and benefit local businesses. Why move two-pound burritos with two-ton cars?
The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles while doing commercial deliveries. We’re looking for talented individuals who will grow robotic deliveries from surprising novelty to efficient ubiquity.
WHO ARE WE?
We are tech industry veterans in software, hardware, and design who are pooling our skills to build the future we want to live in. We are solving real-world problems leveraging robotics, machine learning and computer vision, among other disciplines, with a mindful eye towards the end-to-end user experience. Our team is agile, diverse, and driven. We believe that the best way to solve complicated dynamic problems is collaboratively and respectfully.
ROLE
As a systems engineer focused on hardware test, you are responsible for ensuring that our robot functions as intended, operates safely, and satisfies market/customer needs. You will own the development and execution of novel test methodologies for an autonomous sidewalk robot. You will collaborate across many teams and disciplines to test components, subsystems, and robots in both controlled and uncontrolled environments; and to apply the associated learnings to the design and manufacturing of our robot.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead interdisciplinary teams to formulate, execute, and analyze characterization, verification & validation, and reliability test activities at the component, subsystem, and system levels
Develop test methods that meet requirement intent; this will include protocol development, fixture design, test method validation, test software development, analysis of data, and report/test summary generation
Close the feedback loop to various interdisciplinary teams through analysis and presentation of test results; and where applicable/appropriate make design recommendations based on those results
Drive the development of documentation and tooling (including development of test software) for transfer-to-manufacturing and transfer-to-field-operations of critical tests to ensure safe and performant system function
REQUIREMENTS
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent engineering field
5+ years of experience in the design, integration, and/or test of electromechanical systems
Experience developing and executing comprehensive test protocols for electromechanical and/or robotic systems
Experience in data analysis of test results including probability and statistical analysis techniques
Hands-on approach to the test and debugging of electromechanical systems
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from technicians to senior executives
BONUS
Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics
Experience developing software scripts (Python, Bash) for automating hardware tests
Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
Hiring locations
Currently, we are only hiring US and Canada residents, even for remote jobs.
