RECEIVING INSPECTOR (STARLINK AVIATION)
SpaceX is leveraging our experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s largest satellite constellation and most advanced broadband internet system. We provide reliable and fast internet to millions of users worldwide, including populations with little or no connectivity, rural communities, aircraft, watercraft, and places where existing services are unreliable, too expensive, or disconnected by natural disasters. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, thousands of satellites and consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing. The Starlink team is seeking out the best-in-class professionals to maximize Starlink’s potential for communities and businesses around the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements through eCerts or physical copies
- Complete receiving transactions of incoming product per established procedures
- Approve or reject items and documents based on inspection results as required
- Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies, documentation issues, and packaging damage
- Use electronic MRP system to document issues and route parts and components to proper departments
- Resolve nonconformance and documentation issues, support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, and participate in continual improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Communicate and resolve roadblocks timely and accurately to ensure delivery and on-time receipt status
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of receiving, precision, or metrological inspection experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Familiar with AS9100 Quality Management System standard
- Experience with inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometer
- Quality inspection experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronics field
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5
- Experience with GD&T and use of metrology tools and gauges
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, such as FIFO, 5S, material flow
- Experience with Microsoft Office platform
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs., unassisted
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are general duties of the job
- Willing to work onsite, remote work not considered
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Supplier Quality Specialist/Level 1: $22.00 - $26.50/hour
Supplier Quality Specialist/Level 2: $25.00 - $31.00/hour
Supplier Quality Specialist/Level 3: $29.00 - $37.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
