TAX ANALYST

SpaceX is seeking a skilled tax analyst to join our Finance team. We're looking for a dedicated tax professional with proven expertise in federal, state, and local tax compliance, complemented by strong income tax accounting experience. This role requires hands-on involvement in researching complex tax issues and staying current with evolving legislation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with data gathering and preparation of schedules for outside tax advisors to complete the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, including quarterly estimates and extensions.
  • Assist with the preparation of extensions and estimated tax payment calculations, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Assist with preparation of supporting schedules, including but not limited to book/tax differences, FIN48, valuation allowance, effective tax rate reconciliations, for ASC 740 income tax provision calculations.
  • Assist with research on various tax issues, ensuring compliance with changes in tax laws.
  • Assist and gather information to prepare state income tax apportionment schedules.
  • Assist with notices/audits received by various taxing authorities.
  • Provide support as needed on ad hoc projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax or business administration.
  • 2+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting and/or a US-based multinational corporation.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior Big 4 experience.
  • Experience with general corporate tax compliance and consulting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient in work processes.
  • CPA License.
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekend when needed to meet critical deadlines.
  • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - remote or hybrid work will not be considered.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Tax Analyst: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
