STARLINK OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN – MULTIPLE SHIFTS

At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 10M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support to the Starlink Dish Production lines related to product and process troubleshooting, equipment repair, and maintenance
  • Perform initial triage of non-conforming product, and drive resolution and preventative actions
  • Operate complex automated equipment, and support line start-up and shut down activities
  • Execute off-nominal and development builds on the production line with minimal guidance and assistance
  • Support development of technical processes and standard operating procedures
  • Execute continuous improvement tasks driven by the manufacturing engineering team
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
  • Support the development of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify critical risks by escalating process improvement ideas to your supervisor and/or specialist for further process improvements
  • Perform tasks specific to at least 1 of 3 specialties within the factory: SMT (surface mount technology), test, and mechanical

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 6+ months of experience in electronics, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in electronics, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing
  • Excellent computer skills (email, Microsoft Windows, ERP/MRP/MES systems, iOS, and executing custom developed software).
  • Able to read mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Basic knowledge or understanding of mechanical fundamentals such as types of motion, power transmission systems, pulleys, fastener types, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Able to use basic hand/power tools
  • Basic skill with volt meter to check AC/DC voltage, and read continuity checks and expected known voltages
  • Experience identifying high/low power elements of a panel, potential energy, and knowledge of how to safely interact
  • Able to follow an electrical schematic diagram
  • Possess an IPC and/or J-STD certification
  • Experience providing process and design improvement suggestions to engineering
  • Able to adapt to constantly changing work assignments and fast-paced work environment
  • Able to effectively communicate (verbally and written) with engineering and production

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available one or more of the following shifts:
    • A shift, 5am-5pm Sunday-Tuesday, every other Wednesday
    • B shift, 5am-5pm Thursday-Saturday, every other Wednesday
    • C shift, 5pm-5am Sunday-Tuesday, every other Wednesday
    • D shift, 5pm-5am Thursday-Saturday, every other Wednesday
  • Must be willing and able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed, with minimal notification
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to perform the following functions: bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
