Description
Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. A key ingredient to making reusable systems at Stoke is the drive to fabricate high quality parts and iterate quickly. As a Structures Fabricator you will be responsible for the fit up, welding and assembly of critical rocket structures as well as the rapid iteration of processes and tooling. You will work closely with engineers to develop new manufacturing processes, onboard new equipment and manufacturing capabilities, define and improve work orders and processes documentation and own the fabrication of hardware that will deliver payloads to space. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong technical competence and understanding of precision metal fabrication tools, fit up and welding.
- Fabricate, weld and assemble sheet metal and machined components into complex assemblies where fitments may be extremely thin, non-standard or difficult to access
- Perform high-quality TIG welding, selecting appropriate techniques, parameters, fixturing, and sequencing for thin-gauge materials
- Improve the quality and throughput of the parts and assemblies you fabricate
- Build and maintain an efficient workspace with an eye toward continuous improvement
- Source, create, maintain and improve tools, consumables and equipment
- Maintain stringent quality standards for the parts, processes, and people in your work area
- Execute assigned work to completion and work with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues quickly
- Clear, consistent communication to develop gaps in competency, and challenge norms.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace precision metal fabrication, forming, cutting, fitting with emphasis on welded sheet metal assemblies.
- Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following: TIG, MiG, Laser welding or other aerospace-appropriate welding techniques for stainless steel or nickel
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong commitment to craftsmanship, consistency and quality
- Ability to develop creative solutions for non-standard fitments, difficult joints, and challenging fabrication conditions
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications
- Problem solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Ability to work second shift and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
- Able to withstand repetitive movements

Compensation
Target Levels:
- Level 2 Range: $32.11 - $48.16
- Level 3 Range: $40.13 - $60.17
