About the Company
Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer Manager to lead a high‑performing engineering team focused on the design, development, and continuous improvement of electrical switchgear systems for power distribution.
About the Role
The successful candidate will ensure technical excellence, drive on‑time delivery of project milestones, and maintain full compliance with applicable industry codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and IEC. This role partners closely with sales, production, and cross‑functional stakeholders to meet business objectives while elevating product quality, safety, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with electrical distributors, customers, and consulting engineers on job‑specific requirements, submittals, and witness tests.
- Oversee and contribute to the creation of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and point‑to‑point drawings to meet application needs.
- Provide clear technical guidance to production personnel.
- Support product marketing initiatives and offer negotiation and application support to the sales team.
- Maintain fluency in current engineering technologies and market practices.
- Mentor and develop a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, CAD designers, and technicians.
- Implement processes that improve efficiency and technical capability.
- Review configurations and components.
- Conduct engineering calculations.
- Design circuits and select applicable components.
- Coordinate with drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing.
- Participate in product revisions and quality and safety improvements.
- Lead customer review and approval meetings.
- Oversee inspections and witness tests.
- Manage changes to order requirements.
- Support warranty matters.
- Comply with environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Three to five years of relevant experience, including prior leadership or management of engineering staff and projects.
Required Skills
- Strong foundation in medium‑ and low‑voltage systems, transformers, circuit breakers, and protection systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, electrical and wiring diagram creation, control design, and hands‑on technical support.
- Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design methodologies, and industry codes.
- Comfort operating in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with the ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
- Familiarity with common enterprise resource planning systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong time management, critical thinking, and complex problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, electronic systems and testing design, troubleshooting, production technologies, quality focus, process improvement, project management, research and reporting, attention to detail, and a track record of innovation.
Pay range and compensation package
